THE FIELDHOUSE | proposal
This proposal outlines the vision for a premier, purpose-built, two-court basketball facility in Brentwood. St Martin’s School and Fire Basketball will create a national iconic ‘fieldhouse’ for sporting excellence. This facility will serve as the permanent home for Fire Basketball while providing St Martin’s School with a new PE hub for its staff and 2000 students.

St Martin’s School is named after the patron Saint Martin who lived in 4th Century France. His legacy was ‘charity’…. looking out for the interests of others. Born into aristocracy he learned a new way of caring after finding faith in Jesus Christ. He was elevated to Bishop of Tours by the people precisely because he didn’t want to be !
Fire Basketball CIC is founded on Christian values that put the community as a focus - caring about the opportunity, development and experience of each person. For some, the journey will be to great heights in the world of basketball but our hope is that all will gain from their involvement.

A pre application was submitted to Brentwood Borough Council in May 2025 and received positive feedback.
