A MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER MR JAMIE FOSTER

“I am thrilled to announce the launch St Martins Fire Basketball Academy. Designed for current Year 11 Boys heading into Year 12 in September 2024. Our aim is to combine our already outstanding academic provision in our Sixth Form, with the Elite Basketball programme Brentwood Fire have created. Tailored to your educational ambitions and to realize your basketball potential.”

ABOUT US

Fire Basketball has spent the last 35 years building a renowned National League club structure, competing for junior national titles, and is currently engaging with 350 players a week between the ages of 5-18. The vision inspiring the new basketball academy is to create a special Sixth Form experience that develops each student-athlete academically, physically, and emotionally. We believe the partnership with St Martin’s School will enable this vision to become reality.

Whilst providing a training programme that will elevate the basketball performance of every student-athlete we also desire to help them develop life skills of togetherness, perseverance, and competitiveness through contact time on and off the court.

ACADEMY DIRECTOR - JAMES POTTER

James Potter will be heading up the Academy - bringing over 35 years of coaching experience to the program. James has coached at National League Club, County, and Regional level. He has coached 6 Fire teams to the National Final Four and currently has 5 former Fire players attending High School or College in the USA. In 2022 James coached the Becket Keys School (Brentwood) Year 11 Boys to a National Championship. He has a passion to develop players individual skills and bring teams together that are committed to maximise each others contribution on and off the court.
